Patrick Said, Founder of MaltaAncestry and member of Association of Professional Genealogists.
MaltaAncestry was created from a passion for family history and a desire to help others discover their connection to Malta and Gozo. This project grew out of my own journey into family history and a deep interest in discovering the stories of my Maltese ancestors.
What began as personal research soon became a passion for tracing family lines, working through records, and uncovering the people and places behind each generation. Through that process, I came to appreciate that genealogy is about more than names and dates. It is about understanding the lives, relationships, and history that shaped a family over time. My research focuses on tracing Maltese family lines through civil, parish, archival, and historical records. The goal is not simply to collect names and dates, but to better understand the people, places, and stories behind each family. Every project is approached carefully, with attention to evidence, family relationships and historical context.
MaltaAncestry exists to help families discover their Maltese heritage through careful genealogical research and a meaningful approach to family history.
Today, Malta Ancestry brings together years of personal research, experience with Maltese records, and a growing knowledge of families across Malta and Gozo. The goal continues to be simple: careful research, clear evidence, and a deeper connection to the people and places that came before us.
